Joel thrives on solving complex challenges that hinder access to essentials like healthcare, employability, and education through technology and process design. Since 2015, his career has been fuelled by this passion.
He began as a Commercial Pharmacist with Merck KGaA and later at P&G, developing deep insights into the pharmaceutical value chain in Sub-Saharan Africa and its cultural intricacies. Leveraging this expertise, Joel designed B2B software that streamlined supply chain operations across 500+ healthcare delivery points, boosting medication access and cutting patient costs. Beyond healthcare, he has crafted employability solutions that have empowered 1000s of young people and directly unlocked over $2 million in economic opportunities for African talents.
After graduating from the University of Ghana with a Bachelor of Pharmacy, Joel earned an MSc in Business Analytics and Management Sciences from the University of Southampton as a Chevening Scholar, among the top 2.5% of young people recognized by the UK Government for exceptional leadership. As Impact Officer for the Global Shapers Accra Hub, he led the charge to win the Global Shapers Community’s inaugural Innovation Prize.
Need a human Swiss Army knife to get things done? Joel is your guy.
